It was a perfect day for a beautiful ride and a record number of registrants (569 to be exact) participated in the Three Creek Century on Sunday, Sept. 20. We couldn’t have done it without the help from the many volunteers who drove sag vehicles, baked cookies, prepared food, helped with registration and hospitality, parked cars, ran errands, manned rest stops and more. The century was a huge success judging by the number of positive comments we received. We don’t have the final accounting of how much money was raised, but I can report on that later.
I especially want to thank the dedicated 2009 Century committee who pulled this major event together so well. - John Donoughe – Routes and cue sheets
- Alan Adelman and Mike Kincaid – Sag support
- Jim Harrington –Parking
- Diana Bermingham – Publicity and marketing
- Deena Davis – T-shirts and design
- Cindy Hoehn – Volunteer day and gorp preparer
- Owen Moore, Gary Dolbin and Greg Young – Volunteer coordinators
- Karen Finkenbinder –Registration
- Diane Beliveau – Hospitality and on-site registration
- Dave Gorski – Rest stops
- Sharon Brumbaugh and Lois Moyer – Cookie coordinators
- Dave and Lois Young – Food and beverage
- God – for the perfect weather!
And we owe a big thanks to all who showed up to ride and support HBC.
In addition, the HBC is very greatful to the following businesses that supported the 2009 Three Creek Century: Interested in being part of this wonderful event? New committee members are always welcome. Contact me at 717-798-4537 or
